FEATURED SPEAKER: BRETT PIERCE
Executive Director, PanwapaBrett Pierce is a freelance producer and program developer working in entertaining and educational television production. He was an Assistant Vice President for Creative Development at Sesame Workshop as well as a Senior Producer in their International Television Group. During his 15 years at Sesame Workshop, he developed and supervised a public service campaign in Ecuador and a drama in Cyprus; co-created a math game show that ran for five seasons in Poland and co-executive produced a dramatic series about tolerance and cultural diversity for 8 to 12 year olds in Macedonia. Since leaving the Workshop in 2000, Pierce joined Steel River Productions to consult on the content and development of various new productions including Radio Free Roscoe for The N and FFFBI for WGBH. He is the executive producer of Panwapa, a new initiative from Sesame Workshop and the Merrill Lynch Foundation that seeks to inspire and empower young children to become responsible global citizens. He also teaches intensive media workshops at Colby College, the Rockport International Film and Television Workshops, high schools and businesses. |
