FEATURED SPEAKER: RAFAEL PI ROMAN
Executive Producer and Host, Thirteen/WNET New York
Having started as a union organizer, Rafael Pi Roman became host of WNBC-TV's "Visiones," and eventually moved to Thirteen/WNET where he anchored the station's nightly news, and was the host and Managing Editor of "Inside New Jersey" and "New Jersey People." Later he became Thirteen's prime-time host and also the Executive Producer and co-host of "Inside Trenton," eventually becoming the host and senior editor of Thirteen's prime time Emmy award winning program "New York Voices." A native of Cuba, he received his Master's Degree in International Affairs, specializing in Latin American Studies, from Florida State University. He won an Emmy for "The City," a three part special which covered all aspects of the 1997 New York City mayoral race.
