FEATURED SPEAKER: TOM WELCH
CEO, President, T Welch Consulting
Tom Welch is an ardent revolutionary when it comes to the redesign of the learning process. It is his firm belief that while geography was the major factor in determining a childŐs educational opportunities in the 20th Century, there is a moral imperative to reject that notion in the 21st. He has served in a variety of education-related positions - classroom teacher, curriculum consultant at the Kentucky Department of Education, as well as the first principal of East Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, KY where for six years he was a teaching principal, insisting that all administrators also teach one class every day. In this role, he taught speech, an introductory math class, history, humanities, French and a class in entrepreneurship. His mission and commitment to learning currently find him working around the country as an education consultant with a clear message about how education and learning will change in the 21st century. Much of that work has been in conjunction with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the International Center for Leadership in Education.
