FEATURED SPEAKER: DAN WERNER
Executive Producer, MacNeil/Lehrer Productions Dan Werner was named Executive Producer at MacNeil/Lehrer Productions in November 2005 to lead the development of the.News, an in-school news broadcast and digital content service now under development by MLP. He has overseen the development of pilot segments, online materials and overall development of the.News project. Werner also leads MLP By the People project, a local national civic engagement project which he conceived and implemented following the 9/11 attack on the United States. He was Executive Producer of the recently broadcast PBS documentary: By the People: Citizenship in the 21st Century. Werner is the former president of MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, which produces The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS. He graduated from NYU and the Columbia University Law and Journalism Schools where also served as a teaching assistant, working with Fred Friendly in the preparation of the book, The Good Guys, The Bad Guys, and the First Amendment. |
